Choosing Empowerment is a Virtual Mental Wealth and Resource Agency serving individuals, couples, and families ages 5 and up. We provide psychotherapy, life coaching, therapist training, clinical supervision, and access to supportive resources. Our work is rooted in serving and healing the African American community while continuing to support other marginalized and disenfranchised populations. We intentionally create space for families involved in the foster care system, former adoptees, women of color, Black men, formerly incarcerated individuals, and LGBTQIA+ communities. We are also committed to developing the next generation of clinicians. Choosing Empowerment serves as a training ground for emerging mental health professionals who are passionate about working with diverse and historically underserved populations. A core part of our mission is removing the barriers that prevent people from accessing mental wellness services. We do this through education, open communication, and culturally responsive care that reduces stigma and builds trust. Our virtual services eliminate transportation and time constraints, flexible payment options increase financial accessibility, and our investment in training clinicians expands availability of care. Our approach is rooted in the power of choice and the importance of healthy relationships. We support clients in developing a stronger relationship with themselves first, while building the awareness, tools, and accountability needed to create lasting change.
