The Confess Project Metro Atlanta

Brief Description of Product or Services

The Confess Project of America is the national organization supporting local chapters that train barbers and the beauty industry to become mental health advocates, with the mission to build awareness and break stigmas around mental health within the Black community. Specifically, we train the beauty industry, barbers and stylists to be mental health advocates. To date, we’ve been in over 51 US cities and have trained over 3,000 barbers, as well as have successfully launched our Beauty Coalition in Jan 2023. We estimate our reach to be 2.4 Million individuals annually through the barber/beauty chair. We also work with educators, law enforcement, and mental health professionals around trauma-informed support and suicide prevention. Through Patient Navigation, our most recent initiative, we aim to provide wraparound services for marginalized communities including employment, transport, economic mobility, and healthcare access.
